Happy Father's Day!

Happy Father's Day Dad!
Thank you for all the times you have carried me physically and spiritually!
I am what I am today because of you.
I love you Dad!

Happy Father's Day to my other Dad too!
Thank you for opening your arms to me and making me feel part of your family!
I love you Dad!

And Happy Father's Day to the father of my daughter!
I love you, Chris!
You have spent your life in continual service for me and Elle.
Thank you.

What a nice day!

Today, Elle and Chris went to a stake Daddy-daughter carnival activity/service project. They made place mats and pictures for a children's hospital and then played games outside. There was a bounce house and prizes! Elle came home with candy, a princess tote bag and a radio!

It was such a lovely day, we decided to go to the park. We had so much fun playing, I didn't even take any pictures.
Elle taught Chris and I how to play hand ball. Then we all played kick ball. After that, Elle and I threw the Frisbee and then had a jump rope skipping contest. Then we played on the playground. Elle's sandals were so dirty from the sand, she didn't want to get in the newly washed Mini, so she and I walked home!

We dropped Elle off at Kristen's for our date night and when we came to pick her up, she was missing a tooth!! The very tooth that has been trying to come out for weeks! Now she has matching missing teeth on either side of her bottom front teeth!
Kristen said Elle ASKED her to pull it out! First, she tried with her fingernail, then she tried with dental floss. They tried a second time with dental floss and Elle started to bleed. Kristen wanted to try one more time, but Elle said, "No! Wait! I need to wipe my mouth!" Which she did and her tooth plopped out onto her chest!
It was a great day!

Good Food Friday

Once again, I am making stuff for school. Tomorrow I'll be debuting chicken cordon bleu.

Here's what I did:

I sliced chicken breasts in half crosswise, then I put each section in a baggie and pounded it silly until it was flat. I set that aside. I spread pieces of ham out and put a little dollop of dijon sauce on each one, then I added a tiny piece of cream cheese and a little hunk of swiss cheese. Then, I rolled the ham up and put it in the middle of the chicken. Then I rolled up the chicken and dipped it in a melted butter and beaten egg mixture. Then I rolled that gooey mess in some stove top stuffing that I had blended a little bit.
I hope the teachers like it!! *fingers crossed*

News bulletin!

Elle lost a tooth tonight!

Actually, it has been super loose since yesterday. She was waiting for Kristen to come over and pull it out since she pulled her last tooth out! Kristen wasn't available, so Chris had to do the deed himself!

Camping!

We decided to go camping this weekend! We set up the tent in our living room
and watched Chitty Chitty Bang Bang Bang while in the tent. (Elle's teacher recommended it. Now I know why I had kidnapping nightmares as a kid)
To make the experience more authentic, we roasted hot dogs (over the stove) and we even had s'mores for dessert.
Chris opted to spend the night in his own comfy bed Friday night. Elle and I roughed it.
The next night, we watched Star Trek: The Next generation and we all fell asleep when it was over. Chris and I woke up and we BOTH headed for the bed. Elle stuck it out and even slept in the next day!
Elle and I played games in the tent that day and much to Elle's disappointment, Chris and I took it down that night.
It was pretty fun!

I'm so proud of Elle

On Wednesday, Elle woke up and got dressed and did her hair all by herself! I was so proud of her--
AND I thought she looked so cute, I took her picture!

AND I'm so proud of her because this morning Elle asked me how many meals we fast. I told her two.
She said she'd like to fast today too, but she thought she could only skip one meal.

SHE DID IT!! She didn't eat breakfast and she made it all the way to lunch!
WE'RE SO PROUD OF HER! It was her very first time fasting. She is very proud of herself too!
