Sunday Dress and Hair 3-20-11

Happy spring!!!

Elle and I both wore springy dresses today!

Elle actually fixed her hair this way yesterday all by herself!  (She had me do it today, though)
Today was ward conference.  The Stake primary presidency came in to visit.
We were so pleased that everyone was amazingly quiet and obedient!!  I think we made a good impression.

Although--while our primary president was doing sharing time in Jr. primary, one of the Sunbeams on the front row threw up on another Sunbeam girl--who happened to be the primary president's daughter!  She just kept going while someone else rushed her daughter out to the hall.  Luckily, the sick Sunbeam's mom teaches CTR 6 a couple rows back, so she grabbed her daughter and went to the bathroom to clean her up.  (more good news- she's a team teacher and the other teacher was in charge of the lesson)
That particular Sunbeam class (we have 3) had substitute teachers that day!--a couple.  The husband rushed out to get paper towels, and the wife said, "Don't worry, we're used to this!"  because last week, their own child had thrown up during Sacrament meeting!

Another funny Jr. Primary story--
For sharing time, the Primary president was having the kids role play, and she had two boys walking together, knocking on doors.  No one in primary could guess who they were, then a CTR 4 girl called out  "It's the tooth fairy!"  Her dad was subbing for CTR 5 (we had a lot of subs today!),  I asked, "So, the tooth fairy is like two Mormon missionaries at your house?"  He just laughed and said,  "Was she the one who said that?!

Sr. primary went off without a hitch.  Even Elle's problem class was particularly mild!  (The girls outnumber the boys, but the boys are so crazy, they more than make up for the girls!)

In other news. . .
Elle got a new Beta fish and named him "Slim"  :)

The Many Faces of Nanette

This is me a couple months ago. Not too bad, right?
Well, all except the two cancer spots on my face--one on my nose and one on my cheek.
Oh--and the big scar on my forehead.
But other than that, pretty good as faces go.

Well, being the spunky girl I am, I decided to try on a few other faces.
Here are some of my favorites:

I'll have to wait a little while longer to post my current face. (Sorry, Mom)

I'll tell you this much though--you hardly even notice the scar on my forehead now! :D

X-Ray

Here lies X-Ray
December 2009-March 8, 2011

X-Ray was Elle's first pet. She got him for Christmas 2009.
He was a good fish, and loved by all.
Many people had a chance to know and love him as they saw him and fish-sat him.

He will be greatly missed.

Sunday Dress and Hair 3-6-11

I was all excited to do Elle's hair since it was fast Sunday, and I told her so on Saturday. But she said
"I'm going to be really grumpy tomorrow, Mom"
Since this was true last fast Sunday, I decided to take her word for it.
So, I took an extra long shower, and took my time getting ready.
When I was nearly done, I went to check on Elle. She was all ready, except for her hair.
I knew we were out of time, so I told her to put her hair in a head band or something.
"Didn't you want to fix my hair, though?"
ghaa!
It was too late, so I quickly took a picture and we went to Church.
No exciting hair this week.
But that's OK! She's still cute!

Our Awesome Ward

Did you get your March Ensign yet?

If you did, turn to page 35.
There, you will see what an awesome ward we belong to!

Or, you can just click here and read it:

We weren't around when all this happened, but we know all the people it mentions.  They are so great.  We're so lucky to belong to such a strong ward.

And with all my health problems, we fit in really well. :)

Enjoy!
