Fun In the Sun!

IMG_1982

It has been amazingly hot here lately!  Yea for sun!  (even if it has come at the very very end of summer)

Our grass is dead, so we thought there'd be no better way to water it then jumping through a sprinkler!

Plan and Action

Elle was bored the other day, so she flipped through our Show Me How  book and found out how to make a humongous bubble.

I was so impressed that she had a plan, then took action.

It worked!

Here is Elle walking down the cute sidewalk wearing a cute outfit including her cute headband and cute new shoes and wearing her cute bag dangling from a cute ribbon. . .

The Story of a Man

At the insistence of his mother, Chris saw a dermatologist Friday about a freckle/mole thing on his cheek.

The dermatologist said, "It looks harmless to me.  I don't know why you even came in here, but what the heck.  I'll biopsy it anyway.  And what I mean by 'biopsy' is I will cut a big crater out of your cheek and test it, then if something is wrong with it, I'll go back and make an even bigger crater."

So Chris said "Sure, you can biopsy it.  And what I mean by 'sure' is I'll make an appointment to have it biopsied then cancel it when the times comes closer."

But no such luck.  The dermatologist biopsied it right then and there.

Now Chris has a big crater in the side of his cheek.

That night, he realized that shaving that spot might be somewhat excruciatingly painful.  The very thought of running a razor over that spot makes me queasy.    There was nothing to do but give him full support in his decision to grow a beard.

On Saturday, we went to a BBQ at Chris' coworker's house.  There, he told the guys the story of his crater, then ended with, "And so I'm going to grow a beard!"

There was a unified outburst of applause and excited approval among the guys.  I had no idea such a declaration produced such outcomes!

Apparently, growing a beard is like saying, "Today I am a Man!"

Stay tuned to see what hairy Chris will look like!

(I'm really hoping his face will heal enough by Sunday to shave!)

Sunday dress and Hair

So, I've been a total slacker with Elle's dress and hair lately :(
(We've been at church by 8:20am every Sunday though!)
But, since everyone who's anyone has the above dress on their blogs, I thought it only right that I should too.

This dress was made by none other than my BFF!
She and her family go to Comic-con every year, and she always has an amazing outfit that she makes herself. (She's that awesome).

She's totally famous now.
And I am her best friend.
(so that makes me cool now too)
:)
