Raising Lazarus from the Dead

Lazarus and his sisters, Mary and Martha, lived in Bethany in Judea. Jesus was in Galilee when He learned that Lazarus was ill. Two days later He started for Bethany. By the time Jesus got there Lazarus had been dead four days. Martha hurried to meet Jesus and said, “Lord, if thou hadst been here, my brother had not dies. But I know that even now, whatsoever thou wilt ask of God, God will give it thee” (John 11:21-22) Jesus went to the grave and prayed aloud. Then He cried with a loud voice, “Lazarus, come forth.” Lazarus came back to life and walked out of the cave.
