Baby on the brain
When we were in Utah this summer, we were experimenting to see what our niece would look like with hair.
It didn't work out very well, but it made for a funny picture! It was as if I was sprouting a baby on my head!
I can't decide if that would be better or worse to have a baby come that way ;P
Here's my baby coming out of my head:
We took this picture to show how similar our hair color is.
Pretty close, eh?
Speaking of babies, there are no less than 17 women in the ward who have, or are expecting babies this year! There have been babies born from January on and we have 4 due in October, 2 in November, and 2 due in December!
We even know of 2 due in Jan and 2 due in March!
We are a very fertile ward. To say the least.
I get to co-host two of the baby showers! One for a baby boy, and one for a baby girl. I'm pretty excited! The boy shower is going to be baseball themed, and the girl shower is Victorian era themed.
Chris says the whole "theme" thing is strange. He said we should just eat food, play the guess-the-chocolate-flavored-poo-in-the-diaper game and open gifts.
(He actually thinks that game is crazy, sick and wrong, but he likes to bring it up anyway)
I will be sure to post pictures.
--of the showers--not the poo game--which we are not playing.

Sunday Dress and Hair
We had some time this morning, so I put Elle's hair in curlers!
She even let me hairspray it so it would stay!
(It was gone by the end of church)
But, good news:
Elle finished her Faith in God!
It's signed by the Primary pres. and the Bishop so she's all set!
12 more days until 12!
On a different note,
Friday, Elle yanked this sucker out of our garden:
We had a bunch of tomatoes finally too!

Not me. . .yet
For Labor day (yes, I know that was a long time ago) Chris, Elle and I went on a hike.
It was a beautiful view!
We hiked a little higher and what did we see?
My dream come true almost (since I didn't actually jump off that day)
We hiked up because I knew we'd see TONS of paragliders.
And, we did.
Doesn't' that look fun?!
I mean, look at the VIEW!
someday. . .

Eggs!
Chris has been watching a bunch of The Mind of a Chef with David Chang episodes on Netflix. Elle and I enjoy them too. I've been wanting to try out his nifty way of poaching eggs (even though I think poached eggs are disgusting)
I tried it myself as a surprise snack for Elle.
Here's what you do:
Crack an egg into some saran wrap (I put it in a fold top sandwich baggie) and tie it up.
Then suspend it in hot water until it's done.
I was all worried about it being undercooked so I cooked it a few minutes longer than I would normally cook a hard-boiled egg.
The result looked very cool
But, not only was it completely cooked, it was completely inedible.
Elle wanted to try doing it herself, so we cooked if for a lot less time.
The result was a perfectly (OK, maybe it was still a little overdone) poached egg!
All yucky-gooey inside just like she likes it

School
In case you were wondering how the first day of school went, I'm here to tell you.
(I took notes)
First of all, Elle's bus driver sounds just like Gru. He even gave them a list of don'ts in a Gru-like voice.
1.Doo naht take pikzures of me wit jyour cell phones.
(We're thinking he must be wanted by the KGB)
2.Doo naht toalk. It hoits my e-hars.
(Really, he needs it quiet so he can hear what his co-spies are saying in the mini microphone implanted in his ear)
3. Doo naht fite.
(It will probably trigger a reflex-action and he will do something he might regret)
4. Doo naht mek any annoyhing noisees.
(same reason as above)
5. Doo naht sneeez orr farrt orr burrp.
(OK. Maybe she made that one up)
Other than that, he's fine. She misses last year's bus driver. They used to chat after school.
She has plenty of friends in all her classes.
Plenty of friends at lunch
Math with one of her BFF'S.
She gets has to take ballroom dance in the winter instead of freezing outside!
(She's not excited for that, but I think it's funny) :)
Her humanities teacher seems to have a reasonable amount of work
(hallelujah!)
And she has very little homework.
So far.
I think we're in for a great year!

First Day of School!
Here are a few things that go into a great first-day-of-school outfit:
awesome earrings
crackly nail polish
It's all the rage.
You buy special nail crackling polish to put over whatever color you have on.
New shoes
and of course, new outfit!
Ta Da!
Ready to go!
Have a great day!
I'll miss you so much, Elle!
