Sunday Dress and hair

Since it was Fast Sunday, I decided we'd have time to do Sunday dress and hair!
Because it was Fast Sunday, Elle was super cooperative and very happy.

                                                        She was much better after church.

(which is kind of ironic since she'd been fasting since last night and we hadn't broken our fast yet!)

And because I always have her stand here in the hall, I thought I'd do a close up of the picture she stands under. My brother is amazing at calligraphy, and he did this "Families are Forever"

Sunday Dress and Coat

This cute little outfit is also what Elle wore to her choir concert back in December.
She hasn't worn it since, so I thought it was high time she did!

Here's Elle in her Mink Stole






Actually, she thought she looked like a ghost in this coat, (you can't see her feet--she's floating! Wooo-ooo) and wanted me to take pictures accordingly.
We spent a good half hour trying to capture her mid-jump so she'd look like she was floating. That's how she got the mink stole in the picture above. :)

This is her "ghost face" Very creepy.
It's too bad I don't know anything about my camera, because Elle wanted me to take a spooky dark picture of her.
They just all turned out fuzzy instead. :(
Someday I'll have to read the manual.

Winter Highlights

It’s been a long time!

Here are some highlights of winter:

I had my EE birthday! (It was supposed to be 33, but someone got confused with the sprinkles.  We turned the cake upside down and it worked out)

Elle’s dream come true—both sets of Grandparents in one month!

This is the highlight of Christmas—Elle (with help from G-ma and G-pa) sewed a nativity set for my sister!  All of Elle’s gifts were so thoughtful!  Another of my favorite was  for my dad.  He retired last year, so Elle  made a paper chain with ideas of things he can fill his day with! “read a book, write in your journal”etc.)

She loves it when we make her wear cute things!

And a new dress!  Now that we have 9:00 church, we don’t really have time for the “hair” part of “Sunday dress and hair”

I’m sure I missed more highlights, but that’s all I can think of for now!

 

And since this is such a long post anyway, I’ll add on one more thing--

Yesterday, we took pictures of all the primary kids.  Since we’re a new presidency, we want to memorize all the kids.  I’m doing pretty well considering we have almost 100 kids in primary and 25 in nursery!  I feel so bad when I’m doing sharing time and I want to call on someone, but I don’t remember their name!

(BTW- I’m second counselor now—I miss Activity Days!*sniff*)

Sunday dress and hair

 

We are here in sunny California for Sunday dress and hair today!

Kristen was in hair heaven, so she styled Elle's hair for church :)

She wanted to do something even fancier, but alas, she was lacking in bobby pins.

I think it turned out fabulous!

I am Thankful

Here is our annual Thankful Turkey
He looks amazingly normal this year
(except Elle decided to make him into a Native American turkey--
which is fitting I suppose

And now for a SNOW update

I called Chris at work yesterday at 4 to tell him how crazy it looked up here.
He decided to leave for home immediately.
Two hours later he came home.
Some of the buses were running, some weren't.
Thankfully, Chris was chatting with a guy who happens to live near us.
He was going to catch a bus, then meet up with his wife in a 4 wheel drive vehicle (I have no idea what kind)
They were kind enough to take Chris along.
It turned out to be a symbiotic relationship since Chris used his phone to navigate.
Roads were closed because cars had gone up, then gotten stuck on the side of the hill.
Chris and the nice neighbors found an obscure path that only 4 wheel drive vehicles could manage, and came home!
Our friendly neighbors were one of the first feathers on our thankful turkey last night!

I am thankful for friends in California
It had better be nice and sunny for us!
