Sunday Dress and Hair

I am in this week's post because the dreaded day has arrived. 

Elle is taller than me!

You can see better in the picture we took last night. 

I don't understand what happened! I had a good 1/4 inch on her like, three weeks ago!

Now look at her!

First Day of School!

Today was Elle's first day of school here in SoCal!

(Here she is in our temporary-unfurnished-two roomed-tiled-sketchy neighborhood apartment)

Yesterday, we went to the school around 10am where they  furiously got Elle signed up just in time to get her picture taken for the yearbook and for her student ID card!  We got her a spirit shirt, sweatshirt, PE clothes, picked up her books for the year, met a bunch of kids and staff, and toured the school in a whirlwind!  Halfway through they said, "You need to hurry!  You've already been marked tardy for math!"  And I was like, "Uh, she's not starting today!"  And then they relaxed and toured us more slowly.

It's quite the coincidence that we did all this yesterday because it was the back-to-school check-in day for her *sniff* old school too.  :'( 

The counselor kept stopping kids and introducing them to Elle.  They were all so nice!  I'm sure that she will add many friends to her already great repertoire!

And not to distract from the great day Elle had, but today is our anniversary!

Sunday Dress and Hair

 Even though it--or maybe because--it was Fast Sunday, we were extra slow on the Sunday-do today

 

It was the best I could do under the circumstances.

And because it was Fast Sunday,  not everyone was cooperative.

In other news. . ..

I chaperoned for the 7th grade field trip to the museum of flight.

As customary, Chris decorated our lunch bags for us.
